Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By subscribing to, accessing, or utilizing the Pekingese application (Pekingese.co), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue use immediately.

2. Scope of Service & Deposit Tracking

Pekingese provides administrative software designed to assist Canadian groomers in tracking client appointments, pet coat cycles, provincial sales taxes, and client deposit statuses.

CRITICAL ARCHITECTURAL NOTICE: In Version 1, Pekingese is NOT a payment processor, bank, or escrow agent. Pekingese does not collect, hold, transfer, or process deposit funds from dog owners. Groomers provide their own Interac e-Transfer email or third-party payment details, and groomers manually acknowledge the receipt of deposits within their dashboard.

3. Subscription Billing & Gumroad Merchant of Record

All subscriptions to Pekingese are sold and processed exclusively through Gumroad, Inc., acting as the merchant of record. Gumroad calculates, collects, and remits applicable sales taxes on the SaaS subscription fees. Subscribers may manage, modify, or cancel their renewal at any time via their Gumroad billing link.

4. Cancellation & Read-Only Grace State

Upon cancellation or payment lapse, your account enters a 3-day grace state, followed by a permanent read-only state. In read-only mode, you can always inspect and export your historical records, but cannot schedule new appointments or generate new tax invoices.

5. Canadian Tax & Accounting Disclaimer

While Pekingese embeds statutory Canadian GST, HST, and QST rates and tracks the CAD 30,000 small-supplier threshold, Pekingese is not a certified accountant. Groomers are solely responsible for verifying tax filings and exemptions with their Canadian chartered professional accountant.
