General Information
Pekingese ("Pekingese.co", "we", "us", or "our") provides web-based software administrative tools designed specifically for Canadian independent dog groomers, feline groomers, mobile pet styling vehicles, and multi-table grooming salons.
All information, documentation, user interfaces, calculations, workflows, and sample configurations provided on the Pekingese website (https://pekingese.co/) and within the platform dashboard are published strictly for general informational, workflow scheduling, and operational management purposes.
Access to or use of the platform does not establish any fiduciary, partnership, joint venture, employer-employee, or agency relationship between Pekingese and any subscriber, groomer, pet parent, or third party.
No Legal, Tax or Accounting Advice
Pekingese is an independent software application provider. Pekingese is not a law firm, certified public accounting (CPA) practice, licensed tax consultancy, or financial planning firm. No content, algorithm, calculation, summary, report, or communication generated by Pekingese constitutes legal, tax, accounting, audit, or financial advice.
Subscribers and salon operators must consult qualified Canadian professionals—including licensed Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs), legal counsel, and provincial regulatory bodies—regarding their statutory registration requirements, tax collection obligations, municipal commercial bylaws, and consumer protection mandates.
Users are solely responsible for verifying the legality and statutory validity of all business decisions, client agreements, cancellation fee policies, and tax filings executed in connection with their grooming salon operations.
Tax Estimates & Financial Information
All sales tax rates, breakdown lines (such as GST, HST, PST, and QST), small-supplier threshold tracking metrics, and invoice summaries generated within Pekingese are automated mathematical estimates based solely on:
- The operating province or territory selected by the salon administrator;
- The user-entered CRA Business Number (BN) and provincial tax identification numbers;
- The service pricing, add-ons, and deposit rules configured by the user; and
- Published statutory tax rates current as of the date of platform release.
These figures do not represent official tax assessments or statutory determinations. Tax obligations vary significantly based on business structure, corporate registration, annual gross worldwide revenues, and provincial service exemptions (for example, specific animal health and grooming exemptions under British Columbia PST or Quebec QST).
Each salon operator retains sole and exclusive responsibility for verifying applicable tax rates, confirming registration thresholds (such as the Canada Revenue Agency CAD $30,000 small-supplier standard), charging appropriate statutory tax lines, filing accurate folios, and remitting all collected taxes directly to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Revenu Quebec, or relevant provincial tax authorities.
ROI Calculator & Revenue Projections
The interactive return-on-investment (ROI) calculator, revenue loss estimator, and empty-slot recovery simulations available on the Pekingese website are provided exclusively as illustrative, hypothetical planning models.
Calculations generated by these tools depend directly upon user-provided variables, including estimated weekly appointment volume, average ticket price per groom, historical no-show percentages, and assumed rebooking frequencies.
Pekingese makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that any subscriber will experience increased revenue, reduced no-show rates, improved client retention, or specific financial results by implementing deposit requirements or using our booking tools. Actual salon results vary substantially based on location, local pet demographics, service pricing, groomer skill, client communication, and overall market demand.
Demonstration Data & Fictional Records
To assist prospective salon operators in evaluating the software interface, certain public pages, interactive live demos, and documentation previews display sample appointments, pet coat profiles, rabies expiry dates, municipal licence entries, and client contact profiles.
All demonstration data—including names such as "Milo", "Barnaby", "Sophie Tremblay", "Mark S.", "Whistler Canine Studio", mock telephone numbers, and sample permit references—are entirely fictional and created solely to demonstrate platform interface layouts.
Any resemblance to actual grooming salons, registered businesses, pet parents, living or deceased animals, or authentic municipal registration numbers is purely coincidental. Demonstration records do not reflect actual commercial partnerships or endorsements.
Interac Trademark & Payment Notice

Pekingese is an independent software application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially associated with Interac Corp. References to Interac or Interac e-Transfer within our documentation and public booking forms are made strictly for identification purposes to describe the groomer's preferred method of receiving direct client deposits via Canadian online banking.
Pekingese is NOT an Interac payment gateway, bank, financial institution, or money transmitter. Pekingese does not intercept, hold, transfer, or process client funds. When a pet owner sends an Interac e-Transfer deposit, the transaction occurs directly between the client's financial institution and the salon's bank account via standard Canadian banking channels. Salon operators manually acknowledge deposit receipts within their dashboard.
